Keep Stirrups Leathers Straight for Longer Tack Life

A friendly reminder to all Grooms, Horse Handlers, and AIs: after each lesson, please take a moment to untwist the stirrup leathers (if needed) before putting the tack away. Sometimes we need to twist or wrap the leathers to shorten them for a rider. But if we leave them that way after the ride, it can cause long-term damage and wear to the leather. Over time, this can lead to cracking, stretching, and uneven wear that shortens the life of our equipment.

Quick tip: After removing the tack, give those stirrups a glance and a quick straighten. That small habit helps us preserve our gear and ensures it's safe and comfortable for the next rider.

Thanks so much for your ongoing attention to detail and care — it's what keeps everything running smoothly at VTRA.
