Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association to Welcome The Princess Royal

PRESS RELEASE

Victoria/Saanichton - April 15, 2024

Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association (VTRA) is pleased that Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence will visit their riding facility on Sunday, May 5th.

Staff, volunteers, and students of VTRA are looking forward to sharing highlights of their programs and many successes with The Princess Royal. Some lucky riders will also have an opportunity to demonstrate how VTRA has supported them.

VTRA Board Chair, Annie Brothwell, says they are grateful The Princess Royal has chosen to visit the VTRA. Brothwell is excited to share all the wonderful reasons she has had VTRA in her life for the last 12 years. “I see the smiles, the joy, the calm within the riders and their families and I just want to be able to share this with the world. Her Royal Highness is a keen and successful equestrian, and she understands the connection between the rider and the horse.”

VTRA Acting Executive Director Liz Gagel says it’ll be an honour to welcome The Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence. “She is such an accomplished equestrian and an advocate for therapeutic riding and the people we serve. Their visit brings awareness to the great work VTRA, and other programs like ours, do for our community."
